Editor's Letter: Legal

Legal
April 03, 2018

When I sat down to plan out this month’s content calendar, it was one of the few times that I hardly knew where to start. Because, unlike the rest of the topics we’ve been covering on the pro-blog, if you’re not a lawyer, you really can’t say you know what you’re talking about when it comes to the law.

The legal “stuff” that comes along with being a business owner is one of those things that is easy to play dumb over. And, though I have been lucky enough to not have been bitten in the ass over something, crossing your fingers and considering yourself lucky is not the responsible approach. Yes, most of us know to start with getting a solid service agreement set up but what about everything else that we don’t know that we don’t know?

The struggles I had planning out this month’s articles was the perfect confirmation that dedicating the pro-blog to the topic was the right thing to do (I mean, maybe I should give it two months?). And, I am honored that our legal BFF and lawyer for entrepreneurs Annette Stepanian has jumped on board to share her professional expertise with us all month long.

So, get ready for Aisle Planner law school and to have a more legally sound business in the end!
